BILD am Sonntag: At the fashion shows in Milan you were the hit on the runway for DSquared. At the Wunderkind fashion show you were only among the audience – don’t want to be on the catwalk anymore?

Bill Kaulitz: At the moment I have no time for a second job. We found a house in Los Angeles, we’re going to move soon. My four dogs are coming with me; furthermore we’re working on new songs. Stress!

You’re a professing fashion-freak. What is hot in your opinion?

Bill Kaulitz: I like to wear german labels, today Kilian Kerner. I also liked the clothes of Wolfgang Joop. But my favourite accessory is a necklace with a picture of my mother. The family is the most important thing anyway.

Do you have an overview how much you spend on clothes per month?

Bill Kaulitz: No, better not, I spend too much money on fashion. But anyway, someone gotta boost the textile economy!

Will they ever return to this house in Hamburg?

Los Angeles – the boys from Tokio Hotel has given here successfully concerts and now the city of angels will be their new home. Their manager verified today: “Bill and Tom will move to Los Angeles in November for some time. It isn’t yet clear for how long…”.
At the same time singer Bill had recently made it again and again clear that his heart is at home: “I could never imagine to leave Germany completly. First, because I love to speak the language and because our parents, our family and our friends are here and of course our fans are here.”.
Only allegedly Bill and Tom don’t feel any longer safe in Germany. Several stalker fans and the burglary in one of their houses in Hamburg are a part of the decision for the move. But some experts called it an “escape”, because the great success failed in their homecountry at last: “I believe that they have overstretched a bit and have made the classic mistake… After a huge success ( boom) you have to think about it and not fall in love with big things and that’s what they have done.”.
So now the motto is apparently to escape forward or rather to new markets. Only Bill and Tom will emigrate. Georg and Gustav want to stay in Germany because they have girlfriends here. And also Bill and Tom will probably come back again to Germany some day, that’s what their management told us this morning.

As BILD found out, the famous twins will be moving to Los Angeles in the fall already. Together with their manager and producer David Jost, who has been living in Beverly Hills for over a year now, they want to write new songs.

David Jost verified to BILD: “Yes, Bill and Tom will move to Los Angeles for starters, but they will still keep their home in Germany. The move to LA is planned for half November.”

Their bandcollegues Georg, and Gustav, want to stay in Germany because they have steady girlfriends there. Friends on the band have said that besides the planned work in the Soundstudio in LA the constant pursuit of by the stalkergangs and the break-in into their home in Hamburg are more grounds to move to the USA.

It won’t get quiet for the twins in Los Angeles. The collection of stars is nowhere bigger than in Hollywood, Bill and Tom have also been hunted by paparazzis in Los Angeles.

They have sold more than 8 million CD’s so far with their new DVD and their live album “Humanoid City” they have reached the 1st place in over 15 countries worldwide. In Germany, Brasil, Mexico, Columbia, France and Switzerland this year. In Italy, Portugal and Belguim they reached place 2.

Singaporean fans were more than lucky as TOKIO HOTEL performed on our sunny island for the second time this year.
Audrey Kua gets the band to divulge all their little secrets!

The boys of German band Tokio Hotel may appear cool and collected onstage and in their music videos, but what are the boys really like when they’re not performing? Back in Singapore to perform at SINGfest, Teenage managed to steal some face time with the band to get to know them better. Chatty identical twins, Bill and Tom Kaulitz, and their band mates, Georg Listing and Gustav Schafer were very enthusiastic when it came to talking about their second performance here (which was way more explosive than the small showcase they did previously)!

“The crowd was amazing and the show was good. It was fantastic!” lead singer Bill says. His brother adds, “It was really different because we played our last tour in winter and it was freezing cold. It was easy playing two hours in the cold, but here, we could only play one hour in the heat!”

Unfortunately, due to a packed schedule, the boys were unable to watch the other performances that came before and after them, which were Wonder Girls and Katy Perry respectively. “Most of the time when you play with other artistes on the same stage, everyone has their own schedule. You’re arriving just before the show and there’s not much time to watch the other performances,” Bill explains, to which Tom quips cheekily, “Was there a better performance that night? No!”

Now that the boys have released two English studio albums and fulfilled their dream of performing in Asia, what’s next on their agenda? “We’re not planning another record yet,” says Bill. “But we are always in the studio collecting ideas and making music so we already have some new material. At the moment, we’re still on the road with our current album, Humanoid. We want to see Tokyo. We want to visit more Asian countries and we would have to play at more concerts here.”

Buzznet: Who are your style icons?

Bill Kaulitz: I don’t have a particular idol. There are many different people though who I like and get inspired by. Working with Karl Lagerfeld for instance was great. I adore him. I’m also a huge fan of Heidi Slimane. When it comes to music and appearance Steven Tyler is really impressive!

BN: What is your absolute favorite item of clothing?

BK: That’s a really tough question because there’s barely anything that I can spare while I’m on the road. I don’t have a specific piece of clothing – I simply need it all which is why I bring 10 to 20 suitcases with me. By now, my closets look almost like a clothing store. Even though I find it a little insane myself, I enjoy it a lot.

BN: Describe your look in three words or less

BK: I’m afraid that’s something I can’t do and would also limit myself too much. Every morning when I’m getting dressed I’d have to stick to exactly these three words. An absolutely horrible thought! I’ll leave it to someone else to make up the three words.

BN: If your style had a theme song, what would it be?

BK: I still need to write that one.
